Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Silchar, seized a large consignment of Yaba tablets worth an estimated Rs 168 crore in Assam’s Cachar district and arrested one alleged drug peddler, officials said. The operation was carried out during the night of August 25 and 26 at Jujhang Pahar in the Lakhipur area of Cachar district. During the operation, security personnel recovered around 5.6 lakh Yaba tablets weighing approximately 60 kg. A Tata truck allegedly used for transporting the narcotics was also seized.
