Hindi has been included in the official proceedings of the Assam Assembly. From Monday, the start of the budget session, the state government has decided to include Hindi along with Assamese, English and Bodo in the House proceedings. Assam Identified Over 1.72 Lakh Foreigners, 31,789 Deported; 70 Applied for Citizenship Under CAA

The Assam government has identified a total of 1,72,673 foreigners in the state under the provisions of the Assam Accord, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma informed the Assam Legislative Assembly in a written reply. According to the government, 31,789 identified foreigners have been deported as of June 30, 2026. At the same time, cases involving 73,759 suspected foreigners are still pending before Foreigners' Tribunals. Assam Records 15% Growth in GST Collection in June, Tops National Average
