Gold and silver prices surged to new all-time highs on October 15, with gold crossing ₹1.27 lakh per 10 grams amid strong safe-haven demand driven by US-China trade tensions. Expectations of further interest rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve also supported the rally. On the MCX, gold opened 0.52% higher at ₹1,26,915 per 10 grams and touched a record ₹1,27,500, while silver opened 0.18% higher at ₹1,59,800 per kg, reaching an intraday peak of ₹1,61,418.
