A complaint has been lodged at Krishnai Police Station in Assam’s Goalpara district following allegations that a group of students consumed beef inside a classroom and allegedly attempted to pressure two Hindu students to eat it at a higher secondary school.
According to the complaint, the incident reportedly took place at Habraghat Higher Secondary School in Krishnai. The complainants alleged that five students brought beef to the school and consumed it inside a classroom during school hours.
The complaint further stated that the students allegedly tried to compel two Hindu classmates to consume the meat. When the two students refused, they were reportedly subjected to mental pressure and intimidation.
According to family members, the matter came to light after the students informed their parents about the alleged incident upon returning home from school. The parents subsequently approached Krishnai Police Station and filed a formal complaint, seeking legal action and a thorough investigation.
The allegations have sparked concern among local residents, with many demanding that authorities conduct an impartial inquiry into the matter and ascertain the facts.
Complainants have also levelled allegations against the school administration, claiming that the authorities failed to take appropriate action and attempted to prevent the issue from becoming public.
Confirming the development, Krishnai Police Station Officer-in-Charge Anand Rabha said that the parents of the concerned students had filed a complaint regarding the incident. Police have begun looking into the allegations and are expected to take further action based on the findings of the investigation.
Authorities have not yet released any official findings, and the allegations remain under investigation.
