Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first phase of ‘Shri Mahakal Lok’ (corridor) in Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh. The information came from state Home Minister Narottam Mishra. Also, about the project, the 'Mahakal Lok' corridor 900-meter long and built as one of the largest corridors in India, stretches around the old Rudrasagar lake which has been revived as part of the redevelopment project around the Mahakaleshwar which is too much famous. The temple, one of the 12 'Jyotirlingas' in the country attracts a large number of devotees.

Lovlina Borgohain reaches boxing semis in National Games, 2022

Boxing competition at the Mahatma Mandir Complex, Olympic bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain secured victory in the quarter-finals. Along with Lovlina, Commonwealth Games medalist duo Mohammad Hussamuddin and Jasmine Lamboria also secured themselves a medal each after recording a quarter-final win. Services continued their dominance on Sunday, taking their medal tally to 113 with 51 golds including top podium finishes in wushu, triathlon and canoeing and kayaking. Services won 33 silver and 29 bronze medals. Haryana (31 golds) and Maharashtra (29) continued their battle for the second spot in the medal tally.

Truck hits a rhino in Haldibari Animal Corridor in Assam

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma shared a video of a rhino being hit by a truck in Assam's Haldibari Animal Corridor. The Chief Minister wrote on Twitter, “Rhino is our special friend; We will not allow any infringement on their space” he said sharing the clip which is going viral on the internet with millions of views and shares. While sharing this clip, the Chief Minister wrote that the truck that hit the animal was impounded and fined. He also added that the government is working on a special 32 km elevated corridor that will prevent similar accidents.

India adds 2,797 coronavirus infections

16-year-old girl, gets raped in Assam

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in Assam’s Cachar district for raping and attempting to kill a 16-year-old girl. To some sources, the man was angry with the girl because he believed that the girl went to Durga puja pandal with someone else. Also, her family said the suspect tried to slit her throat, packed her in a bag and dumped the bag in the jungle. But she survived the assault, freed herself and walked back home. Now she is under treatment, fighting for life.

Amit Shah to end flood situation in Assam

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has asked the Assam government to come up with a long-term plan to protect the northeastern state from floods so that further development can take place. "Wetlands need to be revitalized to increase water holding capacity and they can also act as reservoirs during floods," said Amit Shah. Three to four waves ravage Assam almost every year. According to a state government website, the average annual loss due to disasters is Rs 200 crore.

Classes 5 and 8 examinations in all state-run schools, Assam

The state government will conduct the examination for class 5 and 8 students in all state-run schools. The decision was taken by the Assam Cabinet on Friday. According to the decision, if a student fails the annual examination, a special examination will be held for the failed students within two months. In such cases, the teachers of the institution will take special care of the students so that they pass the examination, however, if the student still fails the said examination, he/she will have to appear again in the same class.
