In Myanmar's Myawaddy area 32 Indians trapped after falling prey to an international racket promising jobs in Thailand have been rescued. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, "Some fraudulent IT companies seem to be involved in digital scamming and fake crypto activities. They seem to be operating through agents in Dubai, Bangkok and India and recruiting Indian workers on the pretext of jobs, The opportunities to work in Thailand in the IT sector." Government employees to get early for this festival

Himanta Biswa Sarma instructed the finance department to start early disbursal of salaries to all state government employees for the upcoming festival. In a release the chief minister said, "Durga Puja and festive holidays are starting from October 2, and to ensure unhindered celebrations, the finance department needs to start disbursing salaries from September 29."

Private Madrassas to regulate soon

Several madrassa teachers have been arrested for their links with terrorist organizations. Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said the Assam government can control all private madrasas in the state. When asked whether private madrassas will be regulated, the minister said, "Till now we were not looking at the issue. We already have a law to monitor private educational institutions. But, not all private schools are covered under this Act now.”The minister said that the government is gradually taking measures to bring all private educational institutions under their control and monitoring under the existing law.

West Bengal man arrested by NIA

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a 37 year old man from West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district for his alleged involvement in the CPI (Maoist) case in Assam’s Cachar district. He was arrested near Narayana School from Mahishpata on Kalyani Expressway. An investigation of the case revealed that the accused Chakraborty was an active member of the West Bengal-based CPI (Maoist).

Comedian Raju Srivastava died on Wednesday at the age of 58, 41 days after being admitted to AIIMS in Delhi. His family member confirmed the news.
