An Indian Army jawan was among three persons who died after inhaling toxic gas inside a septic tank in Assam’s Goalpara district on Friday, officials and local sources said.The deceased were identified as Jochok Rabha, an Indian Army jawan and owner of the house, mason Krishna Rai, and another mason, Dilip Das.According to reports, Rabha had returned home on a week-long leave and had started construction-related work at his residence. IIT-Guwahati Develops Clean Fuel Tech Using Methane and Carbon Dioxide

The partnership aims to take a research-driven innovation from the laboratory to large-scale commercial production. Developed by researchers at IIT-Guwahati, the technology uses chemoautotrophic bacteria to convert methane and carbon dioxide — two major greenhouse gases — into bio-methanol through a biological process. Three killed in head-on collision between SUV and truck in North Guwahati

Three people were killed when their SUV collided head-on with a truck at Gauripur in North Guwahati on Thursday.Police said the truck was coming on the wrong side of the road when an SUV coming at a high speed collided head-on with the truck, turning the vehicle into a mangled heap of metal.The deceased have been identified as Ranjit Dey, Karuna Bezbaruah and Partha Pratim Barman. Sources said all three were residents of Maligaon.Police reached the spot soon after the incident and sent the bodies to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.
