Two Bangladeshi nationals held at Guwahati airport with alleged forged Aadhaar cards

Two Bangladeshi nationals were detained by personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the new terminal of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati on Wednesday, July 1, before they could board a flight to Mumbai. The detained individuals have been identified as Rana Molla and Mafuja Akhtar Lima, both residents of Bangladesh. According to officials, the duo came under suspicion during the pre-boarding security screening. A subsequent search allegedly led to the recovery of forged Indian Aadhaar cards along with several other documents from their possession. The first wave of monsoon floods has affected more than 22,000 people across six districts of Assam following continuous heavy rainfall in the state and neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh, according to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA). Official data released by ASDMA stated that 22,124 people have been affected in Dhemaji, Nalbari, Dibrugarh, Chirang, Lakhimpur and Kokrajhar districts. Among them, Dhemaji remains the worst-hit district, with 15,483 people affected by rising floodwaters.
