Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Silchar on March 14, and the Cachar district administration has begun large-scale preparations for the high-profile programme. Senior officials of the Assam government visited Silchar on Tuesday to review the arrangements. The team included Chief Secretary Dr. Ravi Kota, Director General of Police Harmeet Singh, Minister Kaushik Rai and Minister Krishnendu Paul.
