Indian airlines are facing rising financial strain as aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices surge, with industry experts warning that fuel volatility is no longer a short-term shock but a structural risk. TVS Motor Company reported a 7 per cent rise in overall sales for April 2026, driven by strong retail demand across domestic and international markets, even as supply chain disruptions affected production and dispatch volumes. The company said it sold 4,73,970 units in April 2026 compared to 4,43,716 units in the same month last year. However, dispatch volumes were impacted due to lower production caused by workforce shortages, raw material constraints, shortages of consumables among tier-1 and tier-2 suppliers, and limited container availability for exports.
