Indian cricketer and Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper-batter Abishek Porel was arrested by police on Tuesday in connection with a complaint alleging sexual relations with a woman on the promise of marriage. Porel was taken into custody from Hooghly in the morning and questioned for several hours. He was formally arrested later in the afternoon, following which police took him for a medical examination. He was subsequently produced before the Chinsurah Court, while an anticipatory bail hearing in the matter was also scheduled for Tuesday. SBI posts highest-ever quarterly profit of ₹21,121 crore in Q1FY27

State Bank of India (SBI) on Friday reported its highest-ever quarterly net profit of ₹21,121 crore for the April-June quarter of FY27, registering a 10.23 per cent year-on-year growth, driven by higher operating profit, strong credit growth and lower credit costs. The country's largest lender also posted a 9.77 per cent rise in operating profit to ₹33,529 crore, while net interest income (NII) grew 14.88 per cent to ₹46,992 crore. Turkish Airlines carried 9.5 million passengers in July 2026, recording a total load factor of 86.5%, as the airline continued to see growth in passenger and cargo traffic.
