Nagaland Governor R.N. Ravi has directed the chief secretary to initiate criminal proceedings against state government employee indulging in “seditious and subversive” writings challenging the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country and posting them on social media platforms, a Deccan Chronicle report stated. After a relative downslide over the past few weeks,there has been a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in the last few days with 40 new cases detected on Sunday, taking the active cases to  137 in the State. Left parties and their front organisations on Saturday organised sit-in demonstrations instead of the ‘chakka jam’ against the three farm laws in Assam and Tripura. In Assam, the Communist Party of India-Marxist Central Committee member Suprakash Talukdar said that the Left parties along with the front organisations have organised sit-in protests at around 12 places across the BJP-ruled state.
