A young Bihu dancer was killed, and 11 other members of a Bihu troupe were injured after the vehicle they were traveling in collided with a trailer truck in Assam’s Tamulpur on Friday night. A team from Kanha Tiger Reserve has arrived in Kaziranga National Park to bring wild buffaloes to Madhya Pradesh under an animal exchange programme. An operation has been launched in Kaziranga National Park to capture the wild buffaloes. A total of 50 wild buffaloes are to be brought to Kanha from Assam in a phased manner in over three years. This is the first operation to catch the wild buffaloes. An absconding suspect in the illicit trade of Royal Bengal tiger body parts has been captured by officials from the Eastern Range, Gamiri, and Crime Investigation Range, Biswanath Chariali, under the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve.
