In line with the vision of Guwahati Metro in association with Rotaract Club of Guwahati Metro, launched a women empowerment initiative, SABALA, on Dhanteras, the 2nd of November 2021. The objective of the programme was to empower women from the lower strata of the society to become self-reliant. Under the programme, Rotary Club of Guwahati Metro organized a training for 3 months on the sewing machine, for 10 women in association with Ratna peeth Education. The training completed on the 2nd of February 2022.
Honorable Justice Rumi Kumari Phukun was the chief guest at the function. Past District Governors of Rotary District 3240, Rotarian Prabhat Kumar kedia and Rotarian Arijit Endow along with the current Assistant Governor Rotarian Krishna Baruah were present at the event.
