Godrej Industries Group has joined forces with the Bhamla Foundation to launch the #BhoomiNamaskar campaign in anticipation of World Environment Day 2024. The initiative, inaugurated with a tree plantation drive at Jamnabai Narsee International School, aims to plant 10,000 trees across schools in Mumbai over the next six months.
Aligned with the United Nations’ theme of “Generation Restoration,” #BhoomiNamaskar underscores the imperative of collective action in nurturing the earth for a sustainable future. This initiative seeks to combat land degradation, desertification, and drought resilience, echoing the urgent need for environmental stewardship.The launch event witnessed the presence of eminent personalities including Amruta Fadnavis, Jairaj Thacker, Karan Kundra, Esha Deol, and Jackie Shroff, whose participation amplified the campaign’s message of environmental responsibility.
Supported by esteemed organizations such as the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Maharashtra Forest Department, and the United Nations Environment Programme, #BhoomiNamaskar underscores the global significance of addressing environmental challenges through collaborative efforts. Burjis Godrej, Executive Director of Godrej Agrovet, expressed firm commitment towards environmental stewardship, emphasizing the importance of collective action in paving the way for a sustainable future. Asif Bhamla, Chairman of Bhamla Foundation, highlighted the cultural significance of the campaign’s theme, stressing the need for collective environmental action to rectify past damage. Amruta Fadnavis, Founder of Divyaj Foundation, commended the initiative’s focus on tree planting as a potent tool for environmental restoration.
