Norton rolls out first Atlas motorcycle from TVS Hosur plant ahead of global launch

Norton Motorcycles has rolled out the first Atlas motorcycle from TVS Motor Company’s manufacturing facility in Hosur, marking the British brand’s entry into the global middleweight adventure motorcycling segment. The Atlas and Atlas GT are scheduled for an official global launch next month, with sales expected to begin later in the third quarter.

The rollout ceremony was attended by Dr. SutapaChoudhury, British Deputy High Commissioner for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala, highlighting the collaboration between Norton’s UK-based design and engineering teams and TVS Motor Company’s manufacturing capabilities in India. Designed at Norton’s Solihull headquarters, the Atlas is powered by a 585cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine and features advanced rider-assistance technologies, including a Bosch six-axis IMU, configurable riding modes, adjustable KYB suspension, an 8-inch TFT display and smartphone connectivity. TVS Motor Company said production at Hosur complements Norton’s UK facility, which is currently focused on manufacturing the Manx R superbike. The Atlas will be introduced in the Indian market later this year through TVS Paddock, the company’s upcoming premium retail network.

In Guwahati, the launch could strengthen the premium motorcycle segment in Northeast India, where demand for adventure touring motorcycles has been rising due to improved road connectivity and increasing interest in long-distance riding. The arrival of the Norton Atlas through TVS’ premium retail network may offer enthusiasts in Guwahati and the wider region access to a new global premium motorcycle brand, potentially boosting competition in the high-end motorcycle market.
