The Government of Sikkim has announced plans to organise the “Sikkim Creators Conclave”, a special platform aimed at bringing together digital content creators from across the state. The initiative will be organised under the banner of the Sikkim Art, Culture and Heritage Development Board and is expected to focus on promoting the state’s rich culture, heritage, tourism and creative talent through digital media.
The announcement was made by Krishna Kumari Rai while addressing a coordination meeting held for the Sikkim Kalakar Bharosa Sammelan recently. During the meeting, officials and participants discussed the growing role of digital platforms in shaping public outreach and promoting local identity among younger audiences.
According to officials associated with the programme, the upcoming conclave is being planned as a dedicated event for digital creators, influencers, vloggers and other young creative individuals who are actively producing online content related to Sikkim and its people. The event is expected to create a common platform where creators from different backgrounds can interact, exchange ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Chairman of the Sikkim Art, Culture and Heritage Development Board, Sanjay Dilpali Rai, said the proposed conclave would be different from the earlier editions of the Kalakar Bharosa Sammelan. He stated that the upcoming programme would be exclusively focused on content creators and digital media professionals.
Officials said the government has recognised the increasing influence of social media and online platforms in promoting tourism, traditional art, music, local culture and heritage. Over the last few years, many young creators from Sikkim have gained attention through travel videos, cultural documentaries, food blogs, photography, music content and local storytelling on various digital platforms.
