In a significant push for youth development, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.), has lauded the efforts of local initiatives in bridging the communication gap among the state’s young population. Speaking at a special interaction at the Lok Bhavan, the governor highlighted that the ability to speak with confidence is not just a skill but a cornerstone of progressive leadership.
Governor KT Parnaik officially commended the NGO ‘Let’s Speak Arunachal’ on Monday for its extensive work in conducting communication workshops across the state. Addressing a gathering of students and educators, the governor noted that nurturing a culture of civic awareness and effective articulation is essential for shaping the responsible citizens of tomorrow.
“When our youth are educated, disciplined, and confident in expressing themselves, they become the driving force of a progressive society,” the governor stated. He emphasized that the trio of confidence, discipline, and motivation is vital for future leaders to navigate an increasingly interconnected world.
During the interaction, Governor Parnaik made a special appeal to teachers and parents, urging them to become active stakeholders in a child’s linguistic journey. He noted that while schools provide the platform, consistent encouragement and practice at home are what truly dismantle the barriers of hesitation and stage fear.
Adding a practical dimension to his support, the governor announced that the Raj Bhavan Secretariat will soon organize a dedicated debate and declamation competition. This initiative aims to provide students with a high-profile platform to hone their speaking abilities and build self-esteem. He further advised educational institutions to integrate such competitive speaking events into their regular academic calendars.
The event saw the felicitation of outstanding students who have excelled through the ‘Let’s Speak Arunachal’ programs. In a moving segment of the afternoon, students from various institutions—including the Donyi Polo Mission School for the Hearing and Visually Impaired—shared personal testimonials on how these workshops helped them “find their voice.”
The program concluded with a motivational cultural performance by students of Gyan Mission, underscoring the NGO’s commitment to inclusive empowerment. With participation from several government and mission schools, the event reaffirmed the state’s focus on equipping its youth with the tools necessary for both personal and professional excellence.
As the state looks toward a more vocal and confident future, the governor’s call for English proficiency and public speaking remains a clear roadmap for the youth of Arunachal.
