Illegal transportation of beef in Assam; arrested

On Friday, three men in Dibrugarh, Assam got arrested for illegally transporting bags of beef. Under Cattle Preservation (Amendment) Act, 2021 three of them were charged and arrested along with their chopping knives. The accused were identified as as Imran Ali, Miraz Khan and Younus Khan. According to the report, the accused were coming from Chaulkhowa to Loharpatti, Dibrugarh to supply beef. Police was informed earlier about the vehicle; their team detained the vehicle while they were about to deliver beef to Imran Hussain Alias. A man allegedly murdered his longtime friend over a financial dispute, and then hired a private cab to dump the body in a forest 35 kilometers outside the city. 3.5 magnitude earthquake hits Guwahati

According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake occurred northeast of Guwahati at 12:27 PM and the magnitude of the earthquake was 3.5 which occurred in Guwahati during the afternoon period. “Today at 12:27 PM an earthquake of magnitude 3.5 occurred 62 km northeast of Guwahati. Assam Social Welfare Department gave the benefit of over ₹94 crore to the suppliers in 2019-20

The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has said that the Assam Social Welfare Department procured excessive rates and gave undue benefits of over ₹94 crore to rice and pea suppliers in 2019-20.
