Bengal on Sunday reported the seventh drop in eight days in active Covid-19 cases that brought the number down to 5,093 now, a drop of 600 active cases since June 13. The eight-day period also saw 3,755 recoveries or over 45 per cent of the total number of recoveries in the state since the onset of the pandemic. The total number of recoveries has crossed 8,000. Supreme Court allows Puri’s Rath Yatra under ‘strict restrictions’

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday allowed the Rath Yatra to be conducted at Puri in Odisha with certain restrictions, saying that it will be held in coordination with the Temple committee, state government and the Centre "without compromising the health issues". Asking the Centre and the state government to "work in tandem", a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde said that a detailed order will be released by evening. New Delhi: Amid rise in coronavirus cases across India, pending board examinations and competitive tests for engineering and medical colleges are unlikely to be held in July, sources have said.
