Defying tight security arrangements, an unidentified person left anti-government posters inside a Metro train in the capital. Taking this sensitive incident seriously, police have registered an FIR against unknown persons and the Special Branch of Delhi Police has also launched an investigation to get to the bottom of the incident.

According to the police FIR, the incident occurred on the evening of October 20. Driver Tarun Choudhury, operating an express train from New Delhi station to Yashobhoomi, arrived at around 7:15 pm in the evening. After passengers deboarded, the driver inspected the Metro coach and found two posters pasted with glue on the seats. The driver immediately removed the posters and brought the matter to the notice of the Operation Control Centre. As per instructions from senior officials, the two posters were later handed over to the controller at Dwarka Sector 21 station and the police were informed about the entire incident.

According to police sources, these posters were printed in black and white on A4 size paper. The two posters raised 9 important questions about claims of changes in various sectors of the country in recent years, and also included a QR code with the aim of inducting the public into an online group. Police took the posters into their custody on Friday. Investigating officers are examining CCTV footage to uncover who pasted such pamphlets on this highly sensitive Metro route and with what intention.
