President of India, Murmu to visit Tripura & Assam

President Droupadi Murmu will be visiting Tripura and Assam to attend some specific programs on Wednesday. The President will be on three days visit, the statement was issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan. She will inaugurate the Tripura State Judicial Academy and lay the foundation stone of the Tripura National Law University at Narsinghgarh in Agartala On Wednesday. At IIT Guwahati on Thursday, the President will virtually inaugurate and lay foundation stones of various projects of the Union Ministries of Electronics and Information Technology and Health and Family Welfare and Government of Assam. The three days visits scheduled is included more events.

New Chief Justice for High Court elevated

Justice P B Varale of the Bombay High Court was elevated as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court while Justice AM Magrey, a judge of the Jammu and Kashmir HC, was appointed its chief justice. "As per the Constitutional provisions, Justice Pankaj Mittal is transferred to Rajasthan as Chief Justice of Rajasthan HC, Justice PB Varale is appointed as Chief Justice of Karnataka HC & Justice AM Magrey as Chief Justice of J&K & Ladakh HC," Law Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted. The event took place on Tuesday, according to sources.

Rs 47 crore heroine seized in Assam

A joint team of BSF and Assam Police recovered the heroine worth Tk 47 crore from a truck in Karimganj. The heroin weighs around 9.47 kg and it is worth an estimated Rs 47.4 crore. The driver of the truck has been detained and is being questioned for further details, the official said.

Mahakal corridor project in MP

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first phase of ‘Shri Mahakal Lok’ (corridor) in Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh. The information came from state Home Minister Narottam Mishra. Also, about the project, the 'Mahakal Lok' corridor 900-meter long and built as one of the largest corridors in India, stretches around the old Rudrasagar lake which has been revived as part of the redevelopment project around the Mahakaleshwar which is too much famous. Lovlina Borgohain reaches boxing semis in National Games, 2022

Boxing competition at the Mahatma Mandir Complex, Olympic bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain secured victory in the quarter-finals. Along with Lovlina, Commonwealth Games medalist duo Mohammad Hussamuddin and Jasmine Lamboria also secured themselves a medal each after recording a quarter-final win. Services continued their dominance on Sunday, taking their medal tally to 113 with 51 golds including top podium finishes in wushu, triathlon and canoeing and kayaking. Truck hits a rhino in Haldibari Animal Corridor in Assam

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma shared a video of a rhino being hit by a truck in Assam's Haldibari Animal Corridor. The Chief Minister wrote on Twitter, “Rhino is our special friend; We will not allow any infringement on their space” he said sharing the clip which is going viral on the internet with millions of views and shares. While sharing this clip, the Chief Minister wrote that the truck that hit the animal was impounded and fined. He also added that the government is working on a special 32 km elevated corridor that will prevent similar accidents.

16-year-old girl, gets raped in Assam

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in Assam’s Cachar district for raping and attempting to kill a 16-year-old girl. To some sources, the man was angry with the girl because he believed that the girl went to Durga puja pandal with someone else. Also, her family said the suspect tried to slit her throat, packed her in a bag and dumped the bag in the jungle. But she survived the assault, freed herself and walked back home. Now she is under treatment, fighting for life.
