Assam has taken a major step in promoting its farm produce in the global market. The first export consignment of GI-tagged ginger from Karbi Anglong was flagged off to London on March 1. The consignment was formally sent from Krishi Bhawan in Guwahati by Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora. The flag-off ceremony was attended by senior officials of the Agriculture Department and other stakeholders connected with the farming and export sector.
