Sikkim chief minister Prem Singh Tamang on Monday inaugurated the first of its kind ‘Child Empowerment Centre’ at Poklok in Denchung. The centre has been set up by Social Justice and Welfare Department under Integrated Child Protection Scheme, Northeast Now reported. The project was supported by the State Institute of Rural Department and Panchayati Raj (SIRDPR), Rural Development Department, Government of Sikkim. After a gap of almost 10 months and amid the COVID-19 pandemic, schools and colleges classes from Class one and above reopened on Wednesday in Manipur.
