Security forces in Assam's Cachar district seized heroin valued at Rs 3.25 crore and arrested five individuals during an operation on Saturday. Police in Dima Hasao district, Assam, arrested two individuals suspected of involvement in a kidnapping and a firing incident. Suresh Kherksha, also known as Harish Chandra (42), was apprehended on March 7 by Officer-in-Charge Himanshu Borgohain. Kherksha is linked to the kidnapping of a truck driver in Longkhor on April 25, 2025, and a firing incident in Dikhakhor on February 16, 2026.
