Assam bjp accuses opp of making ‘calculated bid’ to derail state’s growth momentum

The ruling BJP in Assam has accused the Opposition parties of a calculated attempt to foster anarchy and derail the state’s developmental momentum.
“The Indian National Congress, along with other Opposition parties and a section of self-styled intellectuals, has become deeply entrenched in a calculated conspiracy to engineer an atmosphere of anarchy with the sole objective of obstructing Assam’s unprecedented developmental trajectory,” Assam BJP spokesperson Ranjib Kumar Sarmah said on Monday.
Addressing mediapersons at the party headquarters in Guwahati, Sarmah alleged that the Opposition parties were systematically attempting to sow chaos, destabilise society and undermine public confidence through an orchestrated campaign of misinformation, disinformation and malicious propaganda.
Sharma asserted that individuals associated with the Congress ‘echo system’ were deliberately disseminating distorted narratives and fabricated information to manufacture an atmosphere of unrest and violence, thereby seeking to paralyse the state’s development process.
He, however, expressed unwavering confidence that such destructive and regressive attempts are destined to fail, recalling that the people of Assam had already delivered a decisive democratic verdict in the previous Assembly elections by politically rejecting and decisively marginalising such negative ideologies and disruptive political forces.
Sarmah further observed that the attempts by certain groups to undermine Assam’s social fabric by glorifying the ideological legacy of leaders of the erstwhile Soviet Union such as Lenin and Joseph Stalin, China’s Mao Zedong, and Cuba’s Che Guevara, are entirely unacceptable to the civilisational ethos of Assam.
“Those who seek to propagate anarchy by elevating such figures as ideological icons are, in effect, repudiating the timeless spiritual and civilisational foundations of Greater Assam established by the revered Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev,” he said.
