Xiaomi India on Saturday launched the Xiaomi 17T, a new flagship smartphone that combines Leica-powered imaging, AI-driven features, immersive display technology and a large-capacity battery, as the company seeks to strengthen its position in the premium smartphone segment. The Xiaomi 17T features a Leica-powered triple-camera system led by a 50MP main sensor and, for the first time in the Xiaomi T Series, a Leica 5x periscope telephoto camera. The device also introduces Leica Live Moment and Leica Live Portrait, aimed at enhancing photography and storytelling through richer visual experiences.
The smartphone sports a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with up to 3500 nits peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi said the device incorporates its Vision Care technology and has received TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care Certification. Powered by Xiaomi HyperOS, the Xiaomi 17T comes equipped with Xiaomi HyperAI, Google Gemini and Circle to Search with Google. It is backed by a 6500mAh silicon-carbon battery with 67W HyperCharge support and features advanced cooling technology for sustained performance.
Available in Violet, Blue and Black colour options, the smartphone is priced at ₹59,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant and ₹64,999 for the 12GB+512GB model. Customers can avail an instant bank discount of ₹5,000, reducing the effective starting price to ₹54,999. In Kolkata, the launch is expected to intensify competition in the city’s premium smartphone segment, where demand for AI-enabled devices, advanced mobile photography and flagship-grade performance continues to grow among young professionals, content creators and technology enthusiasts. Retailers believe Xiaomi’s Leica partnership and buyback programme could help attract consumers looking to upgrade to higher-end smartphones. The Xiaomi 17T will go on sale from June 10 through Amazon, mi.com and Xiaomi retail stores across India. The company is also offering exchange benefits, an assured buyback programme and complimentary subscriptions to Google AI Pro, YouTube Premium, JioHotstar and Spotify Premium.
