According to meteorological sources, the formation of cyclones before the onset of monsoon is not unusual The longest-running cyclone in India’s history is “Vipaya” whose effects are likely to be felt for several more days along the western coast of Gujarat and many parts of adjoining Rajasthan.
It will bring rain to parts of northwest India in the coming days. The most lasting impact of the disaster this time was the monsoon. The cyclonic system can be blamed for delaying the advance of the monsoon over most of the country.
Meteorologists are expecting monsoon rains to end the cyclonic storm which has been prevailing for about fifteen days in the Arabian Sea. Generally Monsoon comes from southwest direction and then moves to rest of the country but which is providing heavy rainfall activity in Indian subcontinent at this time of the year.
