Ayurveda, a typical recuperation gadget that has roots in the Indian subcontinent, has now invited praises from the daughter of Raila Odinga, former prime minister of Kenya. Odinga’s daughter Rosemary, who regained her eyesight after present process Ayurvedic cure in India in 2019, has stated she would take Ayurveda to Kenya as it can assist tens of millions of people.
“Earlier I couldn’t see, now I can. PM mentioning my cure shows close relations b/w our countries. I’ll take Ayurveda to my country, it can assist tens of millions of people,” information enterprise ANI quoted her as saying on Wednesday.
The remarks came in the backdrop of the World Health Organization launching its Global Center for Traditional Medicine (GCTM) in Gujarat’s Jamnagar a day ago. Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus was also present at the foundation stone laying ceremony. The WHO Center in Gujarat will aim to unlock the applicability of Ayurveda by blending historical practices with cutting-edge science. It will be the first and only global outpost center for generic medicines across the world.
Raila Odinga himself praised Ayurveda and spoke of his intention to take Ayurveda to his country. In February, he mentioned with PM Modi the opening of a department of the same hospital in Kenya – where his daughter underwent therapy -. “I warned them that they should come to Nairobi, Kenya and set up a division and I am going to work with them to set up this centre,” ANI quoted Odinga as saying.
Odinga was once referring to Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital and Research Centre in Kerala.
After being recognized with a talent tumour in 2017, Odinga’s daughter had passed through surgery in Nairobi. But in the post-operative period, Rosemary had complained of severe loss of eyesight. She travelled to India in 2019 and underwent remedy at Shreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital in Koothattukulam, Kerala which helped her vision to restore.
