Sony India has expanded its premium home audio portfolio with the launch of a new BRAVIA Theatre lineup, led by the flagship BRAVIA Theatre Trio, as the company seeks to strengthen its position in India’s fast-growing home entertainment market. The new range includes the BRAVIA Theatre Trio wireless home theatre system, BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7, BRAVIA Theatre Bar 5, BRAVIA Theatre Sub 9, BRAVIA Theatre Sub 8, and BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9 and Rear 8 speakers. The products are designed to deliver a cinema-like audio experience at home through technologies such as 360 Spatial Sound Mapping, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and IMAX Enhanced support.
Sony said the BRAVIA Theatre Trio, developed for ultra-large screen televisions, can create up to 24 phantom speakers when paired with compatible subwoofers and rear speakers, offering a wider soundstage and immersive surround sound. The company also introduced BRAVIA Direct Connect, allowing compatible BRAVIA televisions to connect directly with subwoofers and rear speakers without requiring a soundbar. Speaking at the launch, Sunil Nayyar, Managing Director of Sony India, said demand for premium home entertainment solutions continues to rise as consumers increasingly seek immersive viewing experiences. Nezu Daisuke, Global Head of Home Product Business Division at Sony Corporation, described India as a strategic market for the company’s premium entertainment ecosystem.
In Kolkata, the launch is expected to resonate with the city’s growing base of premium electronics consumers. Rising adoption of large-screen televisions, home streaming platforms and smart home technologies has boosted demand for advanced audio systems in Kolkata. Industry observers believe Sony’s expanded BRAVIA Theatre portfolio could attract affluent households and entertainment enthusiasts looking to replicate cinema-quality experiences within their homes. The BRAVIA Theatre Trio will be available from July 1 at a best-buy price of Rs 1,69,990, while other products in the lineup will be rolled out in phases through Sony retail stores and leading e-commerce platforms.
