Nissan Motor India has launched a government-approved CNG retrofitment kit for the All-New GRAVITE, introducing a segment-first twin-cylinder setup aimed at retaining full 7-seater functionality while offering lower running costs and improved fuel efficiency. Priced at an introductory Rs 82,999, the retrofitment kit will be available across 60 cities in 16 states through Nissan’s authorised dealer network. Developed and quality assured by Motozen, the system uses twin 25-litre cylinders designed to preserve cabin space and third-row usability.
The company said the CNG solution has been engineered to balance affordability, comfort and practicality for families seeking economical mobility options in urban and semi-urban markets. The kit comes with a third-party warranty of three years or one lakh kilometres on components. Nissan said the GRAVITE CNG features a Sequential BS6.2-compliant and ICAT-approved system with Dynamic Advancer Technology, heavy-duty 8.1 mm cylinder thickness, seamless petrol-CNG switchover and integrated fuel filling under the fuel lid.
Thierry Sabbagh, Divisional Vice President and President, Middle East, KSA, CIS and India – Nissan and Infiniti, said India remains a strategic market for the company and the launch aligns with growing demand for practical and cost-effective mobility solutions. In Durgapur, the launch could attract family buyers and commercial users in West Bengal’s industrial belt, where demand for fuel-efficient multi-utility vehicles continues to rise amid increasing fuel prices. The availability of CNG infrastructure in and around Durgapur is also expected to support demand for economical 7-seater mobility options.
