Nestlé India has extended relief assistance to flood-affected communities in Assam, Nagaland and Odisha, working with local administrations to provide essential supplies to vulnerable families.
In Assam, the company coordinated with the District Commissioners of Jorhat and Sivasagar and provided 4,000 grocery kits, with 2,000 kits distributed in each district. The Assam Disaster Relief Team and local authorities supported the distribution of the relief materials.
In Nagaland, Nestlé India provided 1,000 grocery kits to flood-affected communities in Mon district following coordination with the District Commissioner. The District Administration and local civil bodies assisted in the distribution.
In Odisha’s Bhadrak district, relief efforts covered Chandbali Tehsil and Tihidi Block, with 3,000 grocery kits and 1,000 hygiene kits provided to affected communities.
In Guwahati, the relief intervention in Jorhat and Sivasagar comes amid the wider impact of flooding on communities and local supply networks across Assam. The distribution of essential grocery supplies also highlights the importance of coordinated support for affected households during disruptions to normal market access.
Kunwar Himmat Singh, Head, Corporate Affairs, Sustainability and CSR, Nestlé India, said the company aimed to support communities whenever and wherever assistance was needed.
