Berger Paints India Limited has crossed the ₹1,500-crore milestone in its construction chemicals business, including waterproofing, in FY26, as the company expands beyond its traditional paints and coatings portfolio. Built over the past seven to eight years, the business has recorded a CAGR of more than 25% over the last three years, significantly ahead of the broader waterproofing market, which is estimated to grow at 8–10%. The wider Indian construction chemicals market is estimated at $2.53 billion in 2026 and is projected to reach $4.47 billion by 2031, according to a June 2026 report by Mordor Intelligence.
Berger’s portfolio includes waterproofing, repair, tiling and allied construction solutions, with its Home Shield range leading the waterproofing segment. Products include Waterproof Putty and Roof Cool and Seal, the latter offering roof waterproofing and cooling benefits. West Bengal is among the markets where Berger has seen particularly strong traction, highlighting the importance of Kolkata and the wider eastern market to its construction chemicals expansion. The company plans to deepen penetration in existing markets while entering newer geographies.
Abhijit Roy, MD and CEO of Berger Paints India, said the company would focus on scaling the business responsibly, strengthening its geographic presence and developing solutions for construction professionals and consumers.
