Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. on Thursday launched the XUV 3XO ZNG, its first mainstream CNG passenger vehicle, with prices starting at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model combines turbocharged performance, fuel efficiency, advanced technology and safety features to strengthen the company’s presence in the CNG SUV segment.
Powered by a 1.2-litre mStallion turbocharged engine, the XUV 3XO ZNG delivers 82 kW of power and 200 Nm of torque in both CNG and petrol modes. The vehicle offers a certified fuel efficiency of 24.7 km/kg and accelerates from 0-60 km/h in 4.9 seconds in CNG mode. Its twin-cylinder CNG system is positioned beneath the luggage area, preserving a flat loading floor and 270 litres of usable boot space.
Safety features across all variants include six airbags, electronic stability control and ISOFIX child-seat mounts. The SUV also incorporates gas-leak detection technology that automatically switches the vehicle to petrol mode if a leak is detected. The existing XUV 3XO has received a five-star Bharat NCAP rating for adult and child occupant protection.
The model is available in four variants, priced between ₹9.99 lakh and ₹12.27 lakh. Test drives began on October 15, while bookings and deliveries are scheduled to commence on October 20, 2026.
Dr Velusamy R, president of automotive business at Mahindra & Mahindra, said the vehicle aims to combine the practicality and lower running costs of CNG with the performance, technology and safety expected from an SUV.
