The Embassy of India, Washington D.C. hosted a special exhibition titled “The Human Cost of Terrorism” on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., on April 23 to commemorate victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and highlight the impact of cross-border terrorism targeting India. The exhibition was inaugurated by Vinay Mohan Kwatra, India’s Ambassador to the United States. The exhibition paid tribute to the 26 victims of the April 22, 2025 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and underscored the alleged role of Pakistan-backed terror groups. Around 19 members of the U.S. Congress, administrative officials and members of the Indian diaspora attended the event, reaffirming support for stronger India–US counterterrorism cooperation.
The digital showcase featured major global terror incidents, including the 1993 Bombay bombings and the 2008 Mumbai attacks, while identifying groups linked to the attacks, including Lashkar-e-Taiba. In a statement posted on X, the Embassy said the exhibition honoured innocent victims of terrorism and reflected a shared resolve to combat terrorism globally.
During the event, Ambassador Kwatra condemned terrorism in all forms and reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to defeating terrorism. U.S. Congressman Brad Sherman also called on Pakistan to take stronger action against groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
