HDFC Life sets up expedited claim settlement framework for Assam flood victims

HDFC Life has established an expedited claim settlement framework for families affected by the recent floods in Assam, allowing nominees and legal heirs of policyholders to initiate life insurance claims by submitting proof of death issued by the local government, police or hospitals.

The insurer said the initiative is aimed at ensuring priority processing and faster payouts to families facing financial difficulties following the flood situation. HDFC Life has provided a dedicated claim helpline at 022-68446529, while its call centre can be reached at 022-68446530. Claimants can also contact the company through WhatsApp at +91 8291890569 or email [service@hdfclife.com](mailto:service@hdfclife.com). Ruma Konwar, the designated nodal officer, can be contacted at 8876517557.

Claimants may also visit HDFC Life branches in affected areas, including Jorhat, Sivasagar and Golaghat, for assistance with the settlement process.

In Guwahati, the move is significant as Assam’s insurance and financial services ecosystem faces heightened demand for responsive claim support during a period of flood-related disruption. Faster settlement mechanisms could provide affected households with timely financial relief and reinforce confidence in life insurance services across the state.

Sameer Yogishwar, Chief Operating Officer, HDFC Life, said every claim request from those impacted by the floods would be treated as a priority to ensure a smooth and hassle-free payout.
