Godrej Industries Group has launched the fourth film in its #CelebratingAcceptance Diwali campaign, titled ‘The Roommate’, highlighting the importance of LGBTQIA+ inclusion, trust and respect in modern workplaces. Released on November 6, 2026, the film shifts the campaign’s focus from family and neighbourhood settings to workplace relationships, emphasising that acceptance often comes through everyday gestures rather than public declarations.
Conceptualised and written by Agency09, the film follows Priyanka, who reveals to her colleagues that Meera, whom they know as her roommate, is actually her partner. Her colleagues respond warmly, explaining that they had always known but believed it was not their story to tell. A new employee, Ayaan, witnesses the exchange and feels reassured about joining an inclusive workplace.
Tanya Dubash, Executive Director and Chief Brand Officer, Godrej Industries Group, said the campaign aims to encourage meaningful conversations about inclusion and create workplaces where employees can share their personal stories on their own terms.
Parmesh Shahani, Head of Godrej DEI Lab, highlighted initiatives supporting LGBTQIA+ inclusion, including Queer Directions, the Godrej Queer India Fellowship and participation in Pride Fund India. Director Raz Rehman Ali said inclusive workplaces reassure everyone, not just those who openly share their identities.
In Guwahati, the campaign highlights the growing relevance of workplace diversity, employee well-being and inclusive corporate cultures as businesses and organisations in the city expand their workforce.
