Long family dispute leads to killing; accused arrested

A man named Abdul Basir Ahmed complained a file against a family for killing his niece to death. Three members of the same family were involved in killing the minors. According to the deceased, his niece was 16-year-old niece and 14-year-old nephew were killed on the intervening night of February, 1. Police have now arrested the accused three people. The family members have killed the minor due to long dispute family issues. They claimed that at first they killed one victim then another came to know about the incident so had to kill both of the minors.

In Assam's Dibrugarh, a minor girl was found unconscious with her hands and feet tied. She was found raped by some men. The girl is 14 years old. The National Family Health Survey (NFHS) reports on child marriage that an average of 32 per cent of registered marriages in Assam are within the prohibited age. Also according to the 2019-21 survey, 11.7 percent of women aged 15-19 were already mothers or pregnant at the time of the survey. Union Budget to directly benefit Assam: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament presented the Union Budget 2023-24 on February 2. On Thursday, Chief Minister Himanata Biswa Sarma said that Union Budget 2023-24 will directly benefit Assam with an additional fund of Rs. 10,000 crore. Sarma also spoke about last year budget which was Rs 25,000 crore but ended up getting 29,000 crore.  This year Assam CM believes that the state will surely end up in Rs 35,000 crore against the budget amount 31,950 crore. Urban bodies to be benefitted by 61% more grant and Panchayat bodies 15% more grant.
