The Assam Cabinet has approved the establishment of Azim Premji University, Assam.The campus is likely to come up at Palashbari in Kamrup district near Guwahati.The state Cabinet has decided to table the Azim Premji University Bill, 2025, in the next Assembly session to facilitate the creation of the university, which is expected to become a major philanthropic, not-for-profit higher education institution in the state.The first Azim Premji University was set up in Bengaluru in 2010 and today operates from a 110-acre campus.
