On Thursday, Assam Appropriation (No. II) Bill, 2023, the state Budget for the next fiscal was passed on the Assam Assembly. According to the reports, the Assam Assembly passed Rs 3.22 lakh crore state Budget for the 2023-24 financial year. The Budget estimates also announced plans to roll out a flagship housing scheme in line with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), covering one lakh beneficiaries, and allocated Rs 800 crore for the purpose.
