Anurag Thakur, a Union Minister, blasted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday for her government's alleged "silent spectator" behaviour as followers of Lord Ram were harassed and hurt during a Ram Navami parade.The state government's response to the violence, according to the information and broadcasting minister, was "shameful," and he asked that those responsible be held accountable.On Thursday night, during a Ram Navami procession in the Kazipara neighbourhood of Howrah, fighting broke out between two groups. During the unrest, a number of vehicles, including some police vehicles, were set on fire. Moreover, a number of businesses were looted.
