Assam, Water department helds meeting to control flood

On Friday, a meeting was held to prevent flood situations in Assam in the presence of Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika and other engineers of the water resources department. The focus of the meeting was prevent Assam from flood situations, repair 41 damaged sites and focus on the ongoing construction of ring bunds, sluice gates and other structures. Water Resources Minister Pijush also announced no permanent work of the water resource department would be carried out from May 15 to October, only temporary works will be carried out.

‘Gunotsav 2023’ which took place from January 18 to February 18 results were released on Monday by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The evaluation scheme covered 44,531 schools and 41,35,163 (96.69 per cent) students in all 31 districts, Assam.
