APART project aims to boost agribusiness and rural transformation, Assam

Across Sonitpur district, the Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation (APART) Project has started two-month training program for 5,000 farmers to boost agribusiness and rural transformation in the state, Assam. The initiative was inaugurated ceremonially at the No 2 Barchala-Chitalmari area in Sonitpur. The aim of the program is to create awareness among farmers about various agricultural schemes, including the PM-Kisan, Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), and Paddy procurement. Accident takes life of a student, Assam

An accident takes life of a student from Dibrugarh University, Assam, occurred at Jamugurighat in Sonitpur district. The deceased is identified as Luku Sharma, a student from Dibrugarh University, Assam. According to the reports, the accident took place when a Maruti Suzuki Swift car, traveling at high speed, collided with a dumper truck from behind. As a result, Luku Sharma lost his life. AOD implements new initiative for PMUY beneficiaries

 14.2 kg LPG cylinder has become a challenge for Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana (PMUY) beneficiaries of Assam.  The beneficiaries are not able to afford the cylinders as they are large and costs’ high. Instead of large cylinders, IOCL has decided to provide two 5 kg LPG cylinders as a refill package to the PMUY beneficiaries in Assam. Assam Oil Division (AOD) shared updates of the taken initiative that about 25% of beneficiaries have not applied for refills due to various reasons. Dengue hits Assam again, 300 cases reported so far. There is a surge of dengue cases this early year with affected and deaths toll numbers. The dengue cases were earlier reported between October and December; the source said this year dengue started taking a toll in several districts from June, even before the onset of monsoon.
