Manipuri Politician remark against paramilitary forces causes harm to their reputation

This year Assam has been facing non-stop rainfall for the first time this year. River Brahmaputra has crossed danger level in Dibrugarh, as per reports. According to the sources, the river was flowing at 105.72 meters which is against the danger level of 105.70 meters. Following the rainfall, the streets and areas of the district Dibrugarh are covered with water and low-lying areas of the town were waterlogged. Assam reorganizes districts those were merge for delimitation

On Friday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced during that to improve administrative efficiency Assam will now have four new districts in the state and 81 sub-districts. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, "We have reconstituted the four new districts, and it is co-terminus with assembly constituencies declared by the Election Commission under delimitation.” The four new districts that are to be created are Hojai, Biswanath, Tamulpur and Bajali. Earlier, these four districts were merged with other districts due Election Commission’s delimitation immediate effect.

MODI scheme to be implemented to boost clean district drive in Assam

On Friday, MODI scheme (Most Outstanding District Initiative) was launched in the state, Assam to boost waste management and sanitation drive. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced about the scheme and also informed that the most outstanding district report including infrastructure improvement along with more criteria will be declared on the first week of April, 2024 and that district will be awarded 100 crore from the Assam Government. 2004 bomb blast convicts acquitted from jail, Assam

On Thursday, Gauhati High Court discharged the convicts those who were involved in August 15, 2004 Dhemaji bomb blast at Dhemaji College playground during the celebration of Independence Day. Manipur violence probed by CBI transferred to Assam

Manipur has been facing violence since May 3, 2023 between the communities of Kuki and Meitei due to ST status in the state, Manipur. There have been number of cases filed in the station against the people amidst the violence. According to reports, Supreme Court has moved the Manipur violence case towards Assam judges for fair trials.
