Socio-economic survey on Muslim community, Assam

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a meeting with the senior officials of the state has decided to conduct socio-economic survey of five Muslim indigenous communities in the state, Assam. According to the sources, the decision was taken by the state government to take measures for the socio-political, educational upliftment of the minority communities in the state. Assam CM taking to the social media handle ‘X’ said, "In a meeting held at Janata Bhawan, HCM Dr @himantabiswa directed the officials concerned to carry out a socio-economic assessment of Assam's Indigenous Muslim communities (Goria, Moria, Deshi, Syed & Jolha).”

Over 800 arrested on child marriage crackdown, Assam

Crackdown on child marriage, special operation began in Assam; over 800 accused were being arrested from parts of the districts on Tuesday. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma taking to social media platform X wrote, "In a massive crackdown against child marriage, Assam Police has arrested over 800 accused persons in a special operation which began in the early hours of dawn.” Earlier, Assam CM warned about arresting 3,000 people involved in child marriage from parts of the state, Assam.

Government raises minimum wages of tea garden workers, Assam

During a cabinet meeting, chaired by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has decided to hike the daily minimum wage of tea gardeners by Rs. 18. According to the sources, the Assam government has decided to increase the wages for Brahmaputra and Barak Valley and is effective from October 1, 2023. Rs. 700 crore to be invested for waterways

India and Canada ongoing raw, 2023

Due to the ongoing raw between India and Canada since past few days there have been tensed environment between the countries. Earlier, Canada PM alleged India for the killing of Sikh separatist Nijjar since then both the countries are on word of conflicts. To which Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar replied, saying that there were a climate of violence and an atmosphere of intimidation against Indian diplomats in Canada, where the presence of Sikh separatist groups has frustrated New Delhi. Assam-Meghalaya border conflicts again

Manas National Park to reopen, invites its visitor from Oct 1, 2023

Assam, Manas National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is all set to reopen and welcome tourists for the 2023-2024 season which is to be started on October 1, 2023.
