More than a month after the Parliamentary Committee on Labour wrote to eight State governments seeking explanation on the changes brought to the labour laws during the extended lockdown, three BJP-ruled States — Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh — have not responded, despite two reminders from the Committee. Muzaffarnagar to observe ‘Janata curfew’ every Sunday

The Muzaffarnagar district administration has ordered a complete shutdown in the district on Sunday. District Magistrate Selvakumari J. said that it has been decided to impose 'Janata Curfew' and all business establishments, including shops, hotels and malls will remain closed every Sunday. A36-year-old man, who went to catch crabs and fish in the Sunderbans area on Saturday morning, died after a tiger attacked him when he was chopping firewood in the forest, an official said. Four forest officials suspended over elephant deaths in Chhattisgarh

The Chhattisgarh forest department has suspended four officials, including a sub-divisional forest officer (SDFO), over the deaths of three elephants which took place earlier this week.
