APCC shared list of aspirants seek tickets for Lok Sabha election, Assam

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has recently shared a release of aspirants seeking tickets for Lok Sabha election to be held in Assam. According to the release, a total of 83 Congress members in Assam, including all three sitting MPs in the state, have sought party tickets. As per the shared release by APCC, among the 83 candidates more than 10 of them are women. Dhubri has the highest number of aspirants with 13 filing papers, while Kokrajhar has the lowest number with two aspirants. Assam Government has approved Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) guidelines to construct houses for the rural area people under the Mukhymantri Awas Yojana scheme. According to the sources, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma presided Cabinet meeting on Thursday, the decision was taken to construct 1.3 lakh houses. Forest dept seizes Channa Barca fish from Dibrugarh airport, Assam

At Dibrugarh Airport, Assam Forest Department seized around 500 ‘Channa Barca’ fish which is unique and endangered worth Rs. 4.5 crore which was smuggled to Kolkata. The Forest Department cited that, Channa Barca are protected under Schedule 2 of the Wildlife Protection Act. Further, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the fish was classified as severely endangered in 2014 in Bangladesh.
