With the New Year spirit, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched 200 electric buses in the city, Guwahati. Major collision in Dergaon kills 14 over 27 injured

A bus collided with a truck in Dergaon, Assam which carried 45 passengers, the incident took place on 3 January early hours. According to sources, amongst the 45 passengers, 14 people died and 27 others were injured. The incident took place on the way when the bus was heading towards Tilinga Mandir, Tinsukia where the truck came in contact with the bus. Police reported that the bus passengers were on their way to picnic and were about to reach their destination, a coal-laden truck coming from Margherita collided with the bus.

Assam government aiming to end age old insurgency in the state

On Friday, Assam government has announced about signing peace accord with the United Liberation Front of Asom, ULFA in the presence of the centre. Fresh lemons and flat beans exported to London from Assam

A team of 16 farmers has successfully exported 500kg of lablab or flat beans to the New Spitalfields market in London, from where farmers’ fresh products go to various European countries. To reports, along with flat beans from Sivasagar, farmers of Tinsukia District have also dispatched 5,000 lemons which are known as Kaji Nemu in Assam. Dhingporiya Mustard FED Producer Company managing director Mantosh Saikia said, “Locals don’t buy lablab beans usually. There was no market for lablab beans. But our unemployed youths, who are from farmers’ families, have got a new export option now.”

Zomato receives ₹ 401 crore show-cause notice on delivery charges

Food delivery giant Zomato has received a Good and Services Tax (GST) notice on a tax liability of ₹401.7 crore. The Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) had sent tax notices to Zomato and Swiggy for not paying GST on delivery charges and said that delivery charges fall under the services category and companies are liable to pay 18 percent GST. On Wednesday, during early hour’s magnitude of 3.4 jolts Assam’ Tezpur, to reports no casualty is reported caused by nature so far. Demand of seats by the Trinamool party in Assam

Trinamool Congress has been eyeing four Lok Sabha seats in Assam. On Tuesday, Trinamool Congress Assam President Ripun Bora said that are going to demand the seats from the INDIA bloc. Four arrested for allegedly killing woman, Assam

A 30-years-old woman from Assam’s Sonitpur district was brutally attacked and then burnt to death by her neighbors over witchcraft practicing on Monday. According to the sources, the victim is identified as Sangita Kati who was burnt alive by the victims. To police statement seven of them are connected to the incident of which four are arrested. To reports, due to longstanding dispute between the neighbors over various issues, the victim got engaged in witchcraft. Further, search operation is underway to locate and arrest the accused one.
