Assam Govt aiming to free state from air pollution

With the New Year spirit, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched 200 electric buses in the city, Guwahati.

According to the sources, the aim of the government is to free the state from air pollution. Also the buses comes with facilities like GPS tracking, CCTV installed inside the bus for women safety.

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “In 2023, we started the New Year by gifting 100 CNG buses. Continuing with the same tradition, this year we want to start the New Year by gifting 200 electric buses to the people of Guwahati.”

Further, Sarma has informed that the diesel run bus services will be stopped as soon as 500 such buses start plying by 2025.
