Shiv Sena leader shoot to death, accuse kills himself

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Abhishek Ghosalkar was shot during a Facebook live session by Mauris Noronha, a business man on Thursday. As per the live video, after opening fire on Ghosalkar, Mauris shoot himself to death. Later, Ghosalkar was taken to nearby hospital. Following the incident, it is assumed that this comes after the Thane shooting incident, where BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad opened fire at Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde group functionary Mahesh Gaikwad inside a police station in Ulhasnagar.

Minor girl gets sexually assaulted, accused awarded 30 years jail

Assam man in Jorhat was sentenced to imprisonment for 30 years under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. According to the reports, the man is identified as Biki Gupta, the accused man sexually assaulted a minor girl in 2019. Earlier, the parents of the accused tired to offer 20,000 to settle down the case. However, the parents of the victim lodged an FIR on April 4, 2019 at the Jorhat Police Station against Gupta.

Gamosa gets unfurl under sea

A youth named Debojit Bhowmik, an aerospace engineer from Gauripur in Dhubri district, unfurls Assam's pride Gamosa under water in Karnataka. According to the sources, Bhowmik's aim to unfurl Gamosa under water was to promote snorkeling among the youths of Assam. Basically, snorkeling is a form of swimming that is performed under water like sea to experience under water environment. Bhowmik stated that he wanted to showcase the beauty and diversity of marine life to the people of his state, Assam and encourage them to try snorkelling.

CBI likely to file charge sheet in Junmoni Rabha death case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 7 to file charge sheet for Junmoni Rabha death case. According to the sources, Junmoni Rabha death case took place on 16 May, 2023 seven months ago and still the reason behind the death is unclear. CBI has been investigating into the matter since last, however on Feb 7 the charge sheet will be filled.

Assam collects Rs 3,816 cr from liquor outlets

Assam has collected Rs 3,816 crore revenue from liquor outlets in 2023-24. According to the sources, the Cabinet Ministry of Excise, Parimal Suklabaidya during the Assam Legislative assembly said that 3,003 liquor shops in Assam. As per the Ministry's details Rs. 12.5 crore liquor sold during Magh Bihu, Rs. 8.5 crore during New year eve, Rs. 6.8 crore Diwali and Rs. 22 crore Durga Puja for the year 2023.

Assam govt tables anti-cheating bill for public examinations

The Assam govt during the budget session of the Assam Legislative assembly, has presented the Assam Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Bill, 2024. According to the introduced bill, unfair means during the public examinations will be fined 10 lakh to 10 crore or prisonment for 5 years. Pune man gets killed in Assam, police helds two

A death body of man was found at mostly known restaurant of Guwahati, Assam i.e. Radisson Blu hotel. According to the sources, the man is identified as Sanjeev Suresh, hailing from Pune. After investigation two men were arrested by the police. The arrested men are identified as Vikas Kumar Shaw and Anjali Shaw, both are residents of Kolkata. Further, investigation are underway.

Indian embassy employee of Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP-ATS) was caught red handed for working with Pakistan's ISI. According to the sources, the employee identified as Satyendra Siwal working in the Embassy of India, Moscow at the Ministry of External Affairs.
