Bengal Launches Credit Card for students; Loans Upto ₹ 10 Lakh

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the launch of a credit card for students with a limit of ₹ 10 lakh. A student -- aged upto 40 -- who has lived in Bengal for 10 years will be eligible for the card, which will be applicable for getting a loan for highr studies.Ms Banerjee said at an online press conference,"No guarantor is needed for this loan. India on Thursday recorded 48,786 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. Active cases are now below 8 lakh mark at 5,23,257. Active cases constitute 1.72% of total cases.In the last 24 hours, 61,588 patients recovered from the infection. Two terrorists were killed in an encounter that ensued between militants and security forces in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday.
