Protests against fuel price rises in Siliguri

On Monday CPIM and Trinamool Congress held separate protest demonstration in Siliguri against the oil price rises. In the Darjeeling hills, petrol is now priced at Rs 101 and while in Siliguri Rs 99.61.

Trinamool Congress protested by cutting a cake where it was written that petrol had crossed 100. Even they also burnt a image of PM Narendra Modi as a token of protest against the fuel price . The Darjeeling district Left front has been continuing protest against the price increse for the past few days.

On Monday the DYFI staged protest demonstration in front of the Gandhi statue near court more. Even the Darjeeling district Youth Congress too hit the streets to protest against the price hike.

They have said that the prices should be controlled immediately. Along with issue of petroleum prices, they also raised the issue of corruption in the Rafael deal. Even they said the central should have thought about the common people.Along with the prices issue, Youth Congress President Rohit Tiwari demanded an investigation in the Rafael deal.DYFI leaders demanded punishment of those involved in fake vaccine scam.
