Delhi records 30 cases of Covid-19

Delhi recorded 30 fresh cases of Covid-19 out of 55,930 tests conducted for the purpose, according to the Delhi government’s latest health bulletin. The national capital has been identifying less than 50 positive cases of the virus for the past many days, showing that the coronavirus situation remains well under control. The positivity rate stood at 0.05 per cent. The recovered patients, discharged by different hospitals, numbered 32. As many as 9,041 hospital beds were reserved for coronavirus patients, but only 144 beds were occupied. Strong earthquake of 6.1 magnitude hits India-Myanmar border; tremors felt in Kolkata, Guwahati

A shallow and strong earthquake of magnitude 6.1 was felt in India-Myanmar border.  The quake was reported at 5.15 am with its epicentre at a depth of 73 km southeast of Thenzawl, Mizoram, according to the National Centre of Seismology (NCS). The tremors were felt as far away as in West Bengal, Tripura, and Assam in eastern India.   The depth of the quake was 12 km. So far, no reports of any damage have surfaced.

The Union Cabinet has approved the extension of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana  till March next year, sources told India TV. Last year, the government had announced PM-GKAY for all beneficiaries covered by the National Food Security Act (NFSA) in the wake of economic disruptions caused by the Covid-19 outbreak.
